Kittens are cute, adorable, rambunctious, and generally quite
photogenic. The following are links to pictures of our kittens as
they grow. From their first weigh-in's - under their
mother's close supervision, their first steps, first vet
visits, their first foray out of the birthing rooms, to getting
ready for their new homes, etc...
(Note:
Remember to scroll down to see "past matings" and their kittens
too!)

| Many of our mothers raise their
kittens in a "communal" environment - more than one
mother and their kittens together. Often times,
the pictures we take have kittens in it from more than
one litter and this is where they will be displayed.
Litter specific pictures are shown in the area dedicated
to that particular mating (past or present). |

Masha is from a friend
of ours in northern Chicago. Of Danish ancestry,
Masha is an extraordinary example of a "European" NFC.
We have been very excited over the outcome of this
mating as we believe the combination of the "European"
look, with that of the U.S. look, will be excellent.
Time will tell.

Annie Red Velvet & Ch. Theodore Rhett Butler (MC)
6/15/05
Annie was our
biggest concern. Physically, she is big and we though
she'd handle the actual birthing just fine, mentally was a
different story. She had a "vacant" look about her (eyes),
which caused us to wonder if she was going to be able to
actually care for the kittens. Well, so much for putting
human attributes onto cats... they'll fool you every time.
5 of the most beautiful kittens you've ever seen! Ok, so
we came very close to having to have a c-section, within minutes
actually, but once nature took over, she did just fine. As
for her "vacant" look... it's gone, replaced with a wary eye
towards anyone who dares go near her kittens! Oh... but
she still can't count...
Two red, three
brown tabby.

Scarlet Fitzhugh & Champion Theodore Rhett Butler
(MC)
5/31/05
Other than some
initial confusion as to what was happening to her, Scarlet did pretty well with her birthing.
Her first baby was born in the litterbox, but once she figured out
what was going on, the rest were in the birthing box and she did
just fine.
Two red, two
cream, one blue.

Melanie Fitzhugh & Champion Theodore Rhett Butler

Melanie's birthing
was very tough on her. For all intents and purposes, she
was "out of it" for about three days. Thankfully (for our
sakes mostly), Olivia stepped in and cared for Melanie's
kittens, along with her own. After Melanie regained her
strength, she started to assist Olivia with the care, but she
has never taken over 100%.
Two blue, three
brown tabby.

Olivia is the
"consummate" mother... Birthing went well (at least from
our perspective) and the kittens proceeded to grow at a good
rate. She dotes over them and keeps an eye on what we are
doing, often telling us to "butt out", which we do. :-)
Four Blue Mackerel Tabby.
